I. CALL TO ORDER:   The meeting was called to order by Anthony Varda at 7:43 pm. 

 

II. APPROVE APRIL 19, 2016 ANNUAL MEETING MINUTES

Motion Duane Haag/Tim Hook to approve the April 19, 2016 annual meeting minutes.  Motion carried.  Voice vote

 

III. 2016 ANNUAL REPORT

No comments of questions.

 

IV. SET ANNUAL MEETING FOR 2018

Motion Joe Kruchten/Kay Kahl to hold the 2018 annual meeting on April 17, 2018 at 7:30 pm.  Motion carried.  Voice vote

 

V. DISCUSSION OF NEW GARBAGE AND RECYCLING PROGRAM

Motion David Evert/Joseph Cline to switch to the large container garbage and recycling program immediately.  Motion carried.  Vote 38-36. Show of hands vote

 

VI. DISCUSSION/ACTION RE: ORDINANCE CONFIRMING WITHDRAWAL FROM DANE COUNTY ZONING AND DANE COUNTY DEVELOPMENT PLAN COVERAGE

Motion Joe Kruchten/Kevin Kahl to approve the ordinance adopted by the Town of Berry Board to withdraw from coverage of the County zoning ordinance and from coverage of the County development plan. Motion carried. Vote 69-19. Paper ballot vote

 

VII. DISCUSSION REGARD TO INCREASED AND ACCELERATED ROAD REPAIR AND REPLACEMENT, AND FUNDING OPTIONS

Motion Melvern Bankes/Kendall Kahl that the town increase the yearly highway budget and attempt to proceed with borrowing additional tax funds for the top three priority road projects it has on the list. Motion carried. Vote 68-3. Show of hands vote

 

VIII. TOWN BUSINESS

 Motion Susan Studz/Duane Haag that the newsletter return to monthly and bring back the communications committee to write articles of interest for town residents. Motion failed. Vote 13-23. Show of hands vote

 

The Berry Heritage Board Committee is looking for volunteer members

 

IX. OTHER ISSUES AS DESIRED BY ATTENDEES

Steve Schmudlach commented that in the past three years the town has increased the use of salt/sand and rock size which causes damage to vehicles.

 

Joe Gary asked for an update on the TDS broadband grant.

 

X. ADJOURN
