Tax Notice

First installment of your property tax bill or full payment (optional) is due on January 31, 2023. All payments must be postmarked by January 31, 2023 or the taxes will be considered delinquent.

For residents who want to pay their bills before the end of this year (2022), please note that all payments must be received (not postmarked) by December 31, 2022.

Payments

Checks are payable to the Town of Berry. Tax bill and dog license payments need to be kept separate (two checks).Tax bill(s) may be mailed or delivered to the office during regular business hours. If mailed, send to the following address:

Second installment of Real Estate Property taxes will be due July 31 and are paid and mailed directly to the Dane County Treasurer.

Receipts

Residents who need a receipt should be sure to bring the entire bill, as the top portion will be marked “Paid” and returned as your receipt. If mailing your payment, please mail the entire bill and include a self-addressed stamped envelope so the top receipt can be sent back to you.

Collection Hours

Taxes are collected on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 7:30 am – 4:00 pm and on Wednesday from 7:30 am – 10:00 am. The office is located at 9046 State Road 19. There may be times when the Treasurer will be out of the office therefore you may make an appointment by calling 767-4152.

The office will be closed all day on December 26, 2022 and January 2, 2023 and at noon on December 30, 2022.

Tax Rate Information

Tax Rate equals the local levy divided by the assessed value. A tax rate of .00331 means that for every $100,000 of assessed value the property tax would be $331.
Mill rate means $.001. If the mill rate is 3.31, then taxes on $1,000 equal $3.31.
